Curriculum Vitae

Ehsan Nouri

My academic pursuit harmonizes the realms of mathematics, technology, and social phenomena. It delves into the collective dynamics of human interactions in computer-mediated spaces, with a focus on the pivotal role of information technology. This exploration draws from a framework anchored in theories and models of complex adaptive systems, social psychology, and organizational theory to provide valuable insights in the domain.

Supervisor: Prof. Babak Sohrabi

Thesis: A scenario discovery study to minimize Inequality of Opportunity using Agent-Based modelling

Abstract: Inequality of Opportunity is the dark side of the observed inequality in every society. Differences in wealth, income levels, and other important achievements like education among people, could be either a result of their “efforts” or “circumstances” which they had no role in choosing and the circumstantial causes should be eliminated through policymaking. I employed an agent-based modeling (ABM) approach which simulates the micro-behaviors of people in pursuing education and employment as outcomes and reports macro-level measures including the Gini coefficient and Human Opportunities Index (HOI). Given these outcomes, I extracted the scenarios which bring equal opportunities to people in different condition groups.

2012 – 2017

B.Sc., Electrical Engineering (Digital Systems), University of Tehran, Iran
Supervisor: Prof. Bijan Alizadeh

Final Project: Design and Implementation of a NEAT Neural Network Simulator

Abstract: Using C++, an object-oriented simulation of physical objects is designed to run the learning algorithms in a 2D volleyball game. Various physical constraints and gameplay rules were applied to the simulation. With a shared memory, data is transferred to an FPGA Processor where the neural network is being trained.
